You may remember that yesterday I mentioned the World of Wheels. Well, today was the day. Two dads, three boys... two 4 year olds and a two year old. And 10,000 of our favorite people. (Yes, that means they had a pretty good crowd...)
I haven't been to the WoW for several years. I've never been a "gotta see it every year" person anyway... I don't think there is enough turnover in the show cars, but I think it is safe to say that we will be back next year. The show is bigger than I remember, and the attention span of the kids was a little short to make it all of the way through.
But, as stated yesterday, even if you aren't a serious car guy (or his kid), the World of Wheels is a good time. The people watching is exceptional... from the Rat Rod people to the Pure Restoration folks, and from the Low Rider peeps to the Racers, it is a highly diverse group... Bikers, too. The design trends are interesting. In decor there is "shabby chic" and in cars there are Rat Rods. Resto-mods are older cars that are conservatively updated, while pure restorations are more researched than many history textbooks. Historic race cars are making their comeback, dressed out in their former glory.
One disappointment was that Vince, the Sham-wow guy, wasn't there. Sham-wow had a booth... but it wasn't Vince. Also present were SpongeBob SquarePants, a couple of American Gladiators, both the new and old K.I.T.T.s from the Knight Rider series'.
BTW, a couple of the photos were shot by Garrett. I gave him a camera for the day, and let him shoot ANYTHING he wanted with NO instruction, direction or advice.
Here is the link to the set of pictures Garrett took. I'm pretty impressed. Aside from the two pictures that he obviously shot in the pouch, no other pictures were edited out of the group.

Lane...Looks like a good time was had by all. I forgot that event was going on this weekend.
No problem...I was getting a contract written....Hip Hip!
Glad the boys (and Dad) had a good time!
Lane, Wish I could have gone....glad you boys had fun, thanks for posting the pics.....wait till Garrett gets older and he can take all the pics and carry all the stuff you collect during the day..it just gets better.....peace zane
I'm glad youhad a good time. Garrett's pics were great! Did you or him have a favorite ride that you saw there?
Zane - He carried his stuff... and took all of his own pictures. Two of the three above were his.
Bob - Garrett's favorite was this truck... I have to say it was pretty cool. I think he liked it because he saw me liking it. The fabrication was good, but the patina of the truck was undisturbed. There were some very cool rat rods... and some old racers. I also have to say that the Foose P-32 was very cool. I loved the bare metal.
