have been noticing something.
Joe the Plumber SCARED Barack Obama...
Now, I'm sure that Obama wasn't frightened as he stood there and talked with Joe... but have you noticed that since that appearance, Obama has not wandered around in places where people might answer unscripted questions? That was the last time that Obama appeared among the unvetted.
Joe did something that Obama didn't like... he asked a question that Obama wasn't ready for. He thought that as he walked along in a working class neighborhood in Ohio, he was among his supporters... and then Joe asked his simple question... and Barack revealed that he thinks it is not just OK, but desirable to take money from one group of people (those that earned it) and give it to another group of people (those that didn't).
That wasn't in the script.
Who's hidin' Biden???
And then there was "the interview." And since the interview, and the numerous other comments that Joe has made over the last few weeks, it seems that Boden has been clamped down on. No more fundraisers with reporters present. No more media interviews. Apparently they have started giving him a teleprompter to try to keep him on message in stump speeches... and he isn't doing as many stump speeches as he was.
Unlike Obama, who is very good at not stumbling over himself and revealing that which he doesn't want to reveal (Joe the Plumber aside), Joe Biden doesn't seem to need much help. He seems willing to say damaging things without help.
Don't look for Joe Biden to show up anywhere that he might have a "rhetorical flourish."
Maybe Joe will come out and tell us about how FDR got on TV after the stock market crash, live from the Oval office to comfort and support the American people.
So...
After all of the abuse that Obama and his supporters put the McCain campaign through for not giving Sarah Palin over to the media, it seems that now it is Obama and Biden that are hiding out and only getting in front of friendly and controlled crowds.

Hey.
If they can keep their mouths shut for the next 5 days, they're In Like Flynn.
Good post with great thoughts. I think they are playing hide-n-seek since it's halloween! They'll be waiting at the curb to take candy from the buckets of the kids who actually "worked" to get it.
I got a note from Sarah today and donated $50 for the last 5 days of work. If everyone did that, we could change the results yet!
I am with Dave Edwards on this one!
Maybe Biden will get annoyed, drop himself from the ticket and endorse McCain
When you are leading in the polls the other candidate has to try and find fault. I think John had to go home for a nap. Regardless who wins I will be so happy it's over. Remember to vote Democrats on Tuesday and Republicans on Wednesday.
Lenn - There are a lot of commentators that are thinking the same thing... letting the clock run out. He did it in the primaries. It is odd, Obama doesn't do well at the end of the campaign, and McCain tends to not do well at the beginning.
Dave - Isn't that what the bullies do?
Kristian - I get three emails a day from the Democrat Party. It is amazing how many outright lies are in that email... and then the half-truths...
Trey - I always like in the movies when the bully jumps out and some 4 year old clocks him one in the nuts.
Hugh - Maybe he will get stir crazy and say something stupid over the weekend. Why do you think Obama is working so hard on the early voting?
Terry - John is hard at work... I think he did 376 stops in Ohio. One for every year of his life. But, The GOP needs the vote Tuesday... Obama needs his votes next Sunday, before he ascends to sit next to his Father on the throne.
Lane - I know that most people believe that Obama has it made, but I'm old, and I remember when Al gore had it locked up for sure, But something happened when they counted the votes. Same thing with John Kerry, something happened when they counted the votes. I know a lot of people who tell me that they usually vote for democrats, but not always. and they would never vote for Obama.
Are they racist? It doesn't matter, they vote however they want. It's still a free country for now.
He may not have changed the outcome, but it does show the power what any human being do. Any human being.....any human being can change the world in a moments notice.
Be prepared........and get ready to make a difference......
Lane. IMO, and that's worth about $0.02, Obama would never have beaten Clinton in the Dem primary if the Rev. Wright stuff had come out early on. It didn't come out until after he'd won enough to squeek through. Once the Rev. Wright stuff came out, Clinton won some big ones.
Obama managed to wiggle through the Rev. Wright stuff long enough to fool the electorate.
Oh well.
Same thing is happening now. McCain is his worst enemy. He declares the Rev. Wright stuff "off limits, when it could have made the difference.
The clock can run all it wants to, the polls are dead wrong, a media tool to show people it is OK to vote for this man, everyone else is...well, it is not working and the polls are now revealing a different number so close to election day. Wow, it says in a few days the polls are tightening and a lead as much as 15 points is dwindling down to three, two or one.
Larry - On the Democrat side, they are saying that the youth (often with no landline, just cell phones so they aren't polled) are being under counted. On the GOP side, they are saying that the party identification percentages are wrong... We'll see.
Tim - Who, Joe the Plumber?
Lenn - McCain is his own worst enemy at campaigning. I think he went too easy on Obama in all of the debates. But, Obama is such a good speaker (unless he gets caught completely off-guard). There are so many associations of Obama's that people don't seem to know about.
Nicholas - It is normal for the polls to tighten... we'll see if it is enough. We do have Ditka out on the trail with Palin.
The Biden interview did nothing good for their image. The "are you kidding me" scene made Biden look like a fool. He didn't want to answer the question...period. They both tend to evade the tough questions and so many fall for it.
Barak Obama has it made according to the polls. Look like a landslide. Though, a lot a strange things happen on election day, certain votes being counted and certain votes being counted twice and broken voting stations, etc... going to be closer than people may think
Cheri' - Their base doesn't care. Biden could show up wearing a Go USSR T-shirt...
James - I think it will be close... the margin of victory might come down to how many people ACORN can move from county to county on their busses.
Seems to me Bush and McCain think it is not just OK, but desirable to take money from one group of people (those that earned it, the middle class) and give it to another group of people (those that didn't, like those collecting huge dividends and stock options, the rich and super rich.) Why don't you see that tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires and the likes of Exxon-Mobile which in the third quarter of this year saw their profit rise 58 percent, to $14.8 billion, while average Americans are paying for that profit at the pump. Talk about redistribution of wealth, and McCain wants to continue giving them tax breaks. No thanks...looks like they're doing fine on their own.
Michael - It seems you have a twisted idea of what taking from one and giving to another actually is... So, I'll be nice and help you.
Obama is raising taxes on the "wealthy" (that would be people that make more than some amount represented as somewhere between $120k and $300k at various times in the campaign). With this additional money, he plans on giving REFUNDABLE TAX CREDITS to people that are lower on the income scale. He says that 95% of people will recieve a tax cut... but 40% of those people DON'T CURRENTLY PAY TAXES. If you give a refundable tax credit to someone that doesn't pay income tax, they get a check...
That is redistributing wealth.
If you allow someone to keep a little more of their own money... that they made... and even after they get to keep it, they are still paying a higher percentage than other people... that isn't redistributing wealth.
If you look, you will see that the super rich... especially those have over $100million dollars favor Obama, but those people also have massive resources to avoid the tax increases that will affect those lower in the ladder.
Finally, let's talk about Exxon-Mobile... do you know what their margin is? Would it surprise you to know that it is around 8%? So, right now in GA... the price of gas is about $0.12/gallon. The government makes around $0.45/gallon in taxes... and in addition to that, Exxon Mobile paid 41% in taxes last quarter. In 2006, Exxon Mobile paid $27.9billion in taxes. The bottom 50% of income earner paid $27.4billion in taxes.
And then there is the next issue... what do you think happens if you raise their taxes? Do you think that the price of gas goes down for the poor? No, it is a cost of doing business... taxes go up, and prices go up. Obama called Hillary's idea of a windfall profits tax stupid during the primaries... and pointed out that it would hurt the poor... now he is talking it up some. Basic economics haven't changed.
Heck, if you took away ALL of their taxes, it would lower the cost of gas at the pump.
In the US the wealthiest one per cent of the population owns more than the bottom 95 per cent.
Companies like Haliburton, have their offices offshore so they don't have to pay taxes.
There is just something inherently wrong to give tax breaks to the rich at the expense of the masses, I am not going to change you mind, nor you mine.
Let's just agree to hope for the best no matter who wins.
Michael - Do you think that raising taxes is going to bring business back? We have the 2nd highest business taxes in the world. That is just flat out stupid. It pushes business away.
And again, the rich pay more in taxes than the "not rich". When Bush got his tax cuts through, the effect dropped taxes for the poor more than the rich... Not on a dollar basis, but on a percentage of taxes paid.. heck, millions of people got their WHOLE tax bill cut out.
Of course, the Democrats aren't telling you that, are they?
Instead of hoping, it would be better to elect someone that doesn't have a plan that will cost millions of jobs.
Lane and everyone else check out this article I found that check the fact about the things that both candidates have said. Check it out at

Stephen - Already responded on one of the other places you mentioned this.
