Larry sums it up quite well...
2008 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE COMPARISON
TALKING POINTS
Got this forwarded to me this past week. I can't say that I've sourced out everything, but I have the corresponding links attached so that the information below can be readily cross verified. Anyway...just my two cents. One party is trying to buy the election and it's told will have spent over $500,000,000 by the time of the election. The first time in a long time that private money will be buying an election. Here's the info as shared with me.

CAPITAL GAINS TAX
MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.
OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)
DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN
15% (no change)
OBAMA
39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')

OBAMA
Restore the inheritance tax
Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.
NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA
New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Lane, this is the clearest example I have seen I will go check out the other links, need to pass it along to a few of my friends and families.
Great info here Lane....keep up the good work bro.
Missy - Larry did the work on this, not me.
Larry - Me keep up the work? You did the work, I just re-blogged you.
This list of tax changes is almost entirely inaccurate. Please check the facts. http://snopes.com/politics/obama/taxes.asp
Andy - There is a lot of "Obama hasn't said, but it is likely that..." in that refutation. And Obama has also changed frequently what he has been saying over the last few months. Finally, he DID vote to increase taxes on people making as low as $42,000... Check the record.
He WILL raise taxes.
People are looking at sources other than US for news and
perspective. The truth will be heard one way or another.
Find the truth about this Political Race through other Countries news and articles!
You might be shocked at what you find!
People play a role, but its so funny, RACE really makes up their tiny minds! LOL
Lexi - I don't know that the truth is coming out of foreign sources, either. There are two things to keep in sight when looking at international media. Obama is the overwhelming choice for US President for people outside the US. Overwhelmingly, people outside the US want the US to be economically and militarily weaker.
One other thing... Of the folks that I know, those that are against Obama never mention race as a factor. Those that I know that are for Obama mention it... not the majority, but it is a factor FOR him... I know that the sample size isn't big enough, but i am truly tired of people trying to connect disapproval of a socialist with poor judgement in who he has allied with to something that is about race.
