Polls, schmolls... People keep talking about national polling data... doesn't matter.
What matters is the Electoral College vote. Without getting into an argument about the Electoral College, it should be noted that most of the polling data one sees don't take the Electoral College into account.
But I found a place where the data is parsed to show the polling results and reflected by the Electoral College format. Love it or hate it, it is still the way it is done (and I can almost smell a post on exactly WHY we have it).
Curious yet?
As of this particual moment in time, John McCain is edging out Barak Obama 270-268. Just for a little reference, Obama was leading McCain 301-224 (with 13 dead tied) just a week ago.
There will certainly be some jockeying between now and the election...

That's a great site, thanks for sharing it with us. I was hoping that mcCain would be able to win this race, just because I believe that he will do the right thing, not the popular thing. If we get a Democrat in the White House , Pelosi will be able to shut down any development in this country.
Lane ~ Thanks. I have bookmarked this site. Keep the imprtant information coming. We need facts not just opinions.
Lane, Cool link. I will be sure to check it out. I for one love this political season. Much fun.
Lane, very good site. It makes clear where the candidates probably will spend their time. It's really interesting how Palin turned the whole race upside down. I just hate the thought of someone honest and exciting like Palin will now be corrupted by McCain and all of his neocons.
"Love it or hate it, it is still the way it is done (and I can almost smell a post on exactly WHY we have it). "
Lane I did that this morning LOL. http://activerain.com/blogsview/687309/Why-the-electoral-college
Great link. I haven't seen that site before. At www.realclearpolitics.com they have one that is quite similar but McCain is still down by 8 based on the polling data they have. If New hampshire goes toward McCain it end up in an electoral tie!
There is still a lot of time between now and Nov. Who knows who will stick their foot in their mouth or anything else for that matter.
Hi Lane, Thanks for the cool link. I really like Chuck Todd ( MSNBC ) because he has such an excellent grasp of the polling and what lies ahead !
Great site! Thank you!
Lane,
I think the number of people who know what the Electoral College is and its function as a percentage of our voters is low.
Larry - I'm being non-political today... But, you are welcome for the link. I also found that they have a widget.
Nicholas - Boortz said it, and so I paid a visit.
Jimmy - I think I am going to be having even more fun with it.
Tim - I think I am a bigger fan of McCain's than you are... and I'm not that big of a fan.
Bob - I'll head over... Maybe I should write mine first...
Bill - MSNBC? Lies? LOL...
Lauren - You are welcome.
Julie - I think you are right...
It would be interesting to save this and see how it comes out in November.
Regardless of how the election turns out, I see a correlation between the Sarah excitement and the rapidly-evolving business of real estate. People are sick of the good-old-boy BS-ers and the 'old' way of doing business, withholding and spinning information, always assuming the public is too stupid to figure out the truth. Bring the Gen-Xers on, lipstick or no lipstick.
Lane, thanks for the site information. I'll go take a peak and follow it along. This race is so interesting to me in this age of gadgets, blogs etc... the media or should I say drive by media is so off base, their credibility is decreasing everyday.
Terry - If you go to the site they have charts of the last two elections... They also have the daily chart for this cycle.
Susie - I do think that there needs to be more transparency in real estate... we are no longer gatekeepers.
Missy - No doubt. MSNBC is in a lot of credibility trouble right now...
Lane - great resource and the pros and cons of the college is a debate that really can only take place in the first 150 days of a new President.
Lane ~
Congratulations this post is now featured in the Blatant Politics Group of Active Rain.
Simon - I think that the Electoral College has a definate and positive place... but that is another post ;^ )
Thanks for the group feature.
