There is just no other way to say it. This thing makes an incredible sound. It idles like a fashion student ripping burlap, and then at full tilt, it makes magic. If I had a car that made that sound, EVERYONE could see me on the news... And there would be scores of angry police officers because I would HAVE to run with it...
And the cool thing is that it could certainly outrun the chopper, and almost outrun the radio. But then there is that sound. The only description that owould go out is "You'll know it when you hear it." It is #3
The other sound I like is more grating... annoying... but I still like it. It comes in #4.
Of course... the big question would be about #1 and #2. I'll never say which is which, but those are the sounds of my boys laughing... Any Dad can tell you that there is no sweeter sound.

There is no sweeter sound that your child's laughter. My 8 month old was laughing so hard the other day that I couldn't stop laughing myself.
Lane,
Ditto on 1 and 2, or in my case 1-5. I'm not sure about the "pipes" in your second clip but the pipes in the first one were sweet! I love those gear guys. And at $340,000 the street version of the A-M probably ain't to bad a deal. Sounds crazy doesn't it?
Also, I just noticed you had this posted in "car buffs". Man why didn't you tell me about that group :-).
I'm old school. My favorite car sounds - tossup between v-12 Ferrari 365gtb4 with the top down/427 Cobra. Quite different but equally exhilarating.
I love it when the kids are over and we start it with the belly laughs. When they were babies I always loved it when they would start laughing. Such a feeling. :-)))
You know...
As a High Speed Driving Instructor and all around racing geek, I'm in love with the DB. The sound of the DB. The feel of the DB. I sat in the sister car once (green lip), I was buckled in but that was it. Boy, I miss the old days of IMSA!
As an aspiring Piper, I'm always happy to hear bagpipes. Maybe it was the shaky audio quality, but I didn't recognize the song. My wife was laughing at me because I was playing this over and over. Had to follow it to YouTube to see who it was and what they were playing.
Although I prefer the classics, I really want to learn how to play Ripple on mine.
Two thumbs up for your #1 and #2! But if you get a chance for #3 let me know, I'll be right there with you. "Mommy, why are they taking Daddy away in handcuffs?"
Christine - The first time the older one laughed, I cried with joy. But, saying that out loud might dispel the rumors that I am a cross between Tazio Nuvolari and Attila the Hun...
Bob - Out of my budget. But a former client (when I was in the photography business) tossed me the keys to his Vantage and told me to get it back in 6 hours and one piece... I got it back with almost a minute to spare.
Don - That kid giggle is magic.
Mike - We will, we will... Rock YOU. I was watching Top Gear last evening and the Stig ran that lap you see in the video. My wife IMd... "what is that noise? Why is it so loud? You're going to wake up to boys... and the dead." ;^ )
Back when I was a Solo Instructor in the SCCA, I challenged a cop that I could run his Vic through the course faster than he could. He was a driving instructor for the PD. 6 seconds on a 70 second course... First lap of mine. He drove like a stuntman. Fast, but wild.
The flip was that when I was in driving school, I couldn't outrun an instructor wit ha car full of the other students. He was in a Vic and I was in a Mustang... it was just wrong.
