Wow. I don't know what else to say, but... Wow.
Back around the end of June, I found out that the Fox 5 iTeam wanted to shoot a segment in one of my listings, 9010 Brixham Court in Suwanee. At first I only knew that it was about home managers and live in stagers. I found out that they wanted to shoot the positive side of a bad situation...
It was going to air in July, but didn't actually air until the last 10 days.
And after seeing it, WOW. I am beside myself.
I am quite happy with the home stagers that we have in the property. They are doing a magnificent job of keeping the house ready at all times. They are flexible and responsible. Obviously it isn't that way for everyone.
I knew from the conversations at the house that there was another homeowner/seller, using a different company, that was having a terrible experience. I had NO idea it was going to go where it did.
As a side note, the owner of the other property got someone from Showhomes of Atlanta into her home as a home manager after this was shot. There is no doubt that this is a solid concept... and that I have a good company for my listing.

Lane...that is hilarious (kind of)!
I saw this story a few days ago, and thought to myself that I felt sorry for the owner, but also for the listing agent having to deal with the headache!
Congratulations for making the news..............:)
Lane - That is unbelievable and that poor owner, congrats being on the news!
Sounds like the listing caught some attention,
Good Luck,
Thanks,

Rock on Lane!
Great advertisement for the seller and exposure for you. I would have tried to get in a few free infomercials if I could. LOL
Way to go, Lane.
Can we get the video?
That is great. Great publicity for your listing and you. Exposure is key.
Lane, that is scary and I can't believe I watched all three segments. Ouch, seller beware. I have shown a couple of homes that used lived in stagers, they were not well maintained and ditto to the furniture being good. I would never advise my sellers to do this. Glad it is working out for you.
I do have all my vacant homes staged but not for live in stagers.
Bill - I'm right there with you. I couldn't believe it... I don't know what I would have done if I had that kind of home manager in my property. Apparently, the seller couldn't keep an agent for that very reason.
Robert - At least my listing was the good one...
Tom - Honestly, it was much better for the home management company... but they did get my sign in there.
Susie - Thanks.
Laura - I tried... didn't work.
Matt - They don't allow embeding, or they would have been embedded here. If you follow the links you can watch.
Carol - Not bad... I actually had a call from a potential buyer that mentioned that they saw the home on TV. It wasn't why they wanted to see the house, they just noticed it was the same house.
Missy - It can be a great deal for the sellers... or not. You HAVE to be able to trust the people behind the company. Basically, in this case the seller is getting several thousand dollars of very nice staging every month... free. And the utilities are paid. The house is always spotless. But, I can see how it could be SO abused as to not be funny.
I'm posting your link to the staging groups on AR.
Hope you don't mind.
I haven't figured out this re-blog thing yet :-(
http://activerain.com/blogsview/667351/Atlanta-Stager-is-really
Virginia - Just click on the Re-Blog it flag up there... make some comments and post it. But that won't let you post it in groups.... And I don't mind at all. Thank you.
Lane, I saw the first part of this a couple of weeks ago and wondered about the outcome. Thanks for posting the follow-up segments. I also had no idea that anyone on AR was involved (even peripherally).
Thanks,
I wanted the whole story out to the stagers groups. Hopefully they will read and comment
Erik - No problem.
Virginia - Thank you.
Do you have it listed now? Has it been staged again?
Give us a link
I kept waiting for the second segment....
Virginia - I should be clear. My listing doesn't really show up until part 3... it is the good one that they talk about.
Maureen - I would love it if I could have embeded the video from Fox 5... but they won't let me. I don't know what to tell you.
Oh I watched it...NOW via your link. I blogged about the first news report on AR so was glad to see Virginia's reference to your being involved. I was glad to see you are working with a different company.
Maureen - It is really nice when the news does an expose on a bad company to be filmed as connected to the good company...
