Lane's Blog - Looking out from the garage

↑ Grab this Headline Animator

I've been using FeedBurner for a few weeks, and one of the handy dandy tools they have are these groovy headline animators.

So, I added them to my email signature... and I have something similar on both blogs, here and LaneBailey.com as well as my website, GarageHomesUSA.com

In addition to RSS feeds and widgets (like the one on the right sidebar), these are a great way to let people know what you are writing about.  I even dropped them into a couple of forums to which I post (Jeep, garage and car stuff).

And I know when they get looked at, too.

Hi Lane.  All of this is new to me.  I don't know what a widget is yet.  Anyway, keep posting anything that might help.

Thanks,

Ken

Lane,

Feed Burner has a lot of great tools and features, the headline animator is the tip of the iceberg with that site.

Thanks for the tip! That looks pretty cool! You techie guys come up with some neat stuff!

Ken - A widget is a little "device" that does something on the website.  In this case, it is a portable box that publicizes my blogs...

Michael Z - Feedburner is a pretty cool way to deliver feeds... and track them.

Michael P - I am using it for my feeds, but there is way more that I need to learn to do there.

Peter - Very easy.  I like getting the reports.

Bill - I have a friend here that has the exact same name and is a fishing guide.  I'm not the techie... I just look for solutions to my problems.

I like this idea, Lane. It's a great way to get a lot of headline exposure in a small space, and with a little more visual impact besides just text. Thanks for the tip!

Great information! I just try it and we can add it to our signature, myspace page, Typepad blog, blogger blog, WordPress.com blog, etc. Thanks!

Carolina - Yes, you can add it to all of those places.  I have it on forum signatures, etc.  BTW, there is a "nofollow" tag on the URL you left.  It doesn't add any juice to your website, and actually falls outside the ToS for A|R.  Some people here get wound a little tight about comment links.

Thanks for the great techie info; I am very proud of myself that to date; everything I have accomplished and can do on the internet I taught myself. (not always the most efficient method of learning, nonetheless haha)

WHAT I still do not know how to do; or understand is the ability to post or blog so that people can LISTEN to my post? Forgive me, been a LOOOONG day and for the life of me I cannot think of the term I am referring to   (AND QUIT LAUGHING AT ME!!! :)   )

A year ago? I didn't know what a BLOG or a WEBINAR was either and I am enjoying myself today; THANKS for the info; I will do my best; I think this is awesome

Posted by Patti A Puckett (Broker Associate/Realtor/ISA with Nouveau Riche) almost 4 years ago

Bryan - Enjoy.

Patti - Podcast is what you are talking about, and there are plug-ins for WordPress and many other platforms to do podcasting as well as video podcasting.  And way to go on learning all of the cool new stuff... I'm learning, too.
