Looking Out From the Garage: Tax Credit Mix

Tax Credit Mix

The First Time Home Buyer & Move-Up Buyer Tax Credits are slated to end unless a property is under contract two weeks from tomorrow.  I don’t see another extension this time.  Even the NAR isn’t pushing for it this time. (Active Military have an extra year to get the credit…)

Because there is still a little time, I thought I would share a few posts about the tax credits… and a couple of other cool programs available.

You are correct Lane.  Even the builders didn't see much of an impact from this last program extension.  I perform a significant number of new home inspections and the builders have really slowed down on pure inventory construction.  No order, they don't break ground.  Many of the developments have unfinished phases and the models have been sold.  Just the nature of the industry nowadays...

I really believe this is the last extension.  There is no political will to extend the tax credit.

Those are some great articles Lane!  Thanks for reposting the links, I seemed to have missed them first time around.
