The Gold Medal match was a great game. Like many, I would have preferred to see Team USA come away with a victory and a Gold instead of a Silver...
But I don't think anyone can say that they didn't deliver a great game. The game tying goal with under 25 seconds left in regulation was amazing! After I got done yelling, I think I could hear shouts from around the neighborhood.
Until that very last game, Team USA was undefeated. They had beaten Team Canada earlier in the Games. I know that the Canadians came into the game with something to prove... but it still took Sudden Death Overtime to do the deed...
Congrats to Team USA
The Silver Medal is nothing to be ashamed of... with the level of play in that last game... I think that you managed to make a lot of new hockey fans!

It was a great win for Canada...and North America.
"Oh, Canada...the true north, strong and free."
It was a well played game and a fitting Olympic finish. Two great teams playing their best. It didn't really matter who won the Gold as it showed true grit and spirit of atheletes who love what they do.
Lane, that was one awesome game! It really could have gone either way so easily. You're so right - they were fantastic.
That was one fantastic "final" game. The US and Canada teams played their hearts out and for me it was nice that the game went into overtime. A "nail-biter" to the end.
I would have liked to have seen the Hockey game. In general not a big Olympics Fan. It kind of makes me think of what we would get if the UN ran the NFL.
I felt bad for the goalie - I think they did a great job!
Hello:
Do you happen to be related to P. R. Baily of Lilburn, GA who helped Joe Day write his manuscript titled "Life in a Levee Camp" (1996)?
If so, I would like to contact Mr. Day or Mr. Bailey. I'm writing about levee camp life and I would to talk to Mr. Day or Mr. Dailey about the manuscript that I located at the Mississippi Department of Archives in Jackson, MS.
Thank you.
Stan
That was really an exciting gold medal game -- a great showcase for North American hockey and the NHL. Can you imagine these two teams in a seven game series?
Stan - No known relation... Sorry...
Thanks all for the comments. It was a great game.
