'tis the season for 10 Best Posts. They are everywhere. Here two... Maybe I could even do a "10 Best of the 10 Bests" post... (that might be going too far)
I think these are my 10 Best Favorite Posts for 2009...
From LaneBailey.com
- Think you have time to mull over that house buying decision for weeks?
- Cheap Sex and Real Estate...
- My home is worth what?
- Can a $29,000 Home be overpriced?
- Where in the World is Lilburn, GA?
And from ActiveRain/GwinnettGarageGuy.com
- The best agent to use is the one that tells me the highest price
- I turned down a listing today... because it was the right thing to do...
- Thomas Edison, Kids' Hockey and Failure... Lesson?
- Absorption Rate? What is this all about?
- What IS the value of an Open House?
All of these posts were from Calendar Year 2009. For the ones on Active Rain, none of them got a feature. Some had a couple thousand views, others only had a couple hundred. Some of them might have been "overlooked"... others weren't.
I liked them. I hope you like them too. Feel free to drop the name of the one you like the most into the comments. And if you have a "Best of" or "Favorites" post, drop that into the comments, too.

These are pretty good Lane. BTW I love the video testimonials on your profile!
Lane, I love the Cheap Sex blog post! I wanted to do a post about an agent who does that here but was talked out of it by fellow realtors. Your analogy is perfect!
There's a lot of stuff at ActiveRain that gets overlooked. I'd like to see them split the Featured section into Featured Realtors, home inspectors, lenders, stages, etc., and perhaps even Featured oldies, newbies, in-betweens, questioning, etc.
Very good Lane, liked the post. Is your other blog WordPress?
Thank you for the comments...
Russel - That would be a LOT of feature pages...
Gene - The other blog is WP.
Hi Lane! Great top 10! As for the cheap sex/real estate post--I sometimes wish that I could, with a good conscience, do what your first agent did! I have tons of listings but, all of them get 100% marketing efforts--if I could logically say 110%, I would!! It's a full-time job for Ray making sure that all of the sellers are getting pushed to the top of Google rankings and for me, it's switching it up each time I find a new way of marketing my listings. We work countless hours doing that and it would be so easy just to do what the first agent said she does--but, for as little as I sleep at night, I want to be SURE that I get that little bit and don't lose sleep because I'm not doing everything I can humanly do to get these folks' homes SOLD!
I hope 2010 is your best year EVER and I look forward to our first 2010 session too!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
