If the Director of the Sierra Club's Global Warming and Energy Program hates it, it HAS to be cool. Daniel Becker, the person in that position said, "Shame on International for making this thing...This is a monster truck that only a Hummer could love, and it shows that without government leadership, the auto industry will lead us to more irresponsible, gas-guzzling vehicles." So, It has passed the first test. And I would welcome Mr. Becker to hook up a 40,000 pound trailer to his Prius, Smart or bicycle...
And that is what the International CXT was designed to do... tow 20 tons down the road in comfort... for racers, equestrians or RV enthusiasts... anyone that needs to tow heavy stuff without worry. The curb weight is 14,500 pounds... and that puts it around twice the weight of a Hummer H1.

I'm sure I'll be seeing it on the beaches here in Hawaii. Young guys here spend all their money on trucks and the bigger the better.
Thats the problem with uncle sam getting in the way... some of us Tow things and need a vehicle big enough to do that... while this one is a huge one, there will be contractors or enthusiasts that need towing capacity!
PS: on my list of 101... the new GT500.. and the Dodge Charger SRT8 ... Actully want to buy the charger... Cool car with a practical side of 4 doors.
Richard - They aren't cheap... and I would guess that they would be WAY expensive to run there...
Robert - I have pulled 15,000lbs... and that doesn't happen with a Prius. We need to have the option. I'd love ot have one of those with a bio-diesel mixing rig in my garage. I saw an SRT8 Charger just a couple of days ago. I like those things too. And of course the Mustangs are always cool...
