We got a new dog... All of my Twitter followers and Facebook friends and FaceBook fans have known this for a week. They got to see the pics within minutes of picking her up from the shelter (actually, the vet... the shelter sent her over for a little maintenance). But this isn't about social networking and how fast information moves...
This is about a cute little dog...
Meet Maggie. She is part Beagle and part Dachshund. She is sweet, docile, energetic and loving. The boys really like her and she seems to really like them. She is quite happy hopping up on Garrett's bed and laying on his legs during story time... and he is quite happy to have her there.
But she LOVES Gail.
She thinks I'm ok... but I'm not the Mommy. Gail wanted a little dog that loved her... and she got it.
In fact, Maggie won't go to the bathroom for anyone but Gail. So, Gail has to take her out on the leash to go potty. That is a dedicated animal.
When Gail went out this afternoon, I got a concert... whimper, whine and then howl... We howled together for a few minutes. Then Maggie jumped up on my couch office, and curled up next to me before retiring to her crate room. Dedicated...
Of course, Everyone Loves Gail...
And for those that missed it, Maggie did get a post here, but not everyone picked up on the joke...
How long will it take for Lisa Heindel to find the Cowboy Mouth video?

We welcome Maggie to AR. She looks like she will fit right in!
Lane, Maggie is just too cute!! We got a rescue just a few months ago and they just make the best dogs. They are so happy to find a good home. It sounds like Maggie hit the jackpot!
Maggie, you are absoultely adorable! Welcome to the family.
Maggie! I couldn't leave you if I tried!
Cookies as treats might get you in sync ...if you give her a treat if she goes potty for you...
Hi Lane! How PRECIOUS is Maggie?! And, I can SO hear you howling right along with her!! ;-)
Lane, I concur with Karen. It's amazing what a little bribe can do to coax a dog to do what you want.
Remember, that dogs want to please the alpha dog. Just make sure you are the alpha dog.
If you've not had a dog before, or not for some time, dog obedience classes are de riguer.
OH, By the way, Maggie is a cutie. And pound puppies are the best.
Joan - Maggie fits in everywhere. She can curl up pretty tight...
Marchel - She did hit the jackpot. We treat our dogs like little fuzzy royal people...
Connie - She is...
Maria - We don't know why she ended up in the shelter... She is such a sweetie.
Jessica - Thanks. I love dogs, too.
Karen - She has to pee to get the treat... she won't pee for me. We're trying a feww things...
Debe - I had a Beagle/Bassett/Foxhound. He taught me to howl.
Andrew - There is no doubt that I am Alpha. She knows that her spot is below the kids, she submits to them. In almost everything else she will do as requested... but that potty issue...
It apparently took me a little while, but I have a good excuse...I was out drinking and listening to a band last night :)
Cute, cute, cute...I want a little dog that loves me too, but instead I have 2 big, shedding, garbarge eating hounds.
oh, and the guy in the cowboy hat is from Algiers :)
Lisa - Anyone we know... I really need to get down there to hang with you guys.
psssstttt....I heard a CM rumor for Gretna Fest in October...it would be a great time to visit :)
Lisa - got a room?
LOL! Not unless you can share a crib with the new grandbaby (we are running at full capacity over here!!)...BUT, it would be a great time to visit. The festival made the cut for the top 20 festivals in the Southeast. Great food, music, vendors, rides and games for the kids and concerts right between the levee and the river. Can't get much cooler than that.
Lisa - Sounds pretty cool. We'll have to see what the future holds. Garrett will be in Kindergarten then, though.
