... then you aren't trying hard enough.
I have thoughts that take on a life of their own. This is one of them.
I am kicking around for a few days while the family is at the beach. I have a lot of work I need to get done, and some playing too. One of the work/play things is welding up a frame for my Jeepster/Commando.
A few years ago, on the Pirate 4x4 forum, a poster made the comment that "you aren't a real weldor until you catch yourself on fire." And, as I smelled the burning flesh (mine) I had to agree.
You might find this strange, but I weld in loose shoes without socks. When (please note... not if) a piece of molten slag drops into my shoe, I want it off! I only did it a couple of times today...
So, here is the point.
I know it is going to hurt.
I'm not completely stupid (luckily, my wife doesn't read this, or she might argue that point...). But I also know that I have to endure the "less than fun part" in order to get to the fun part.
I melted steel together. I love that. I took two pieces of metal, and I made them into one piece of metal... like Superman. And actually, it was about 40 pieces of metal... so far.
One day... hopefully before Garrett is old enough to drive... I'm going to have the cool Jeepster/Commando to drive. And I will know that I started from the ground up.
Occasionally, I get a little discouraged that this collection of parts has just refused to assemble itself while I work... but I'll get it done.
And so, if you ever set yourself on fire, that doesn't mean you should stop. That just means that you are trying. And you need to learn how to remove ANY article of clothing quickly... while the neighbors decide if they are going to fall down laughing, or put you out. (Don't ask...)
