Here is my stretch for the day.
The following video demonstrates the importance of teamwork. Even individual agents are part of a team. Brokers supervise and should train and/or mentor. Those working for the big players, and even those with some of the regional or up-and-coming companies should expect some training through the parent company.
So, how can I tie this to the video of some of the most incredibly talented drivers in the world? Easy. EVERY one of these guys is supported by an incredible team. It starts with the co-driver. When they show the in-car, you will see him sitting there, slightly back and below the driver. While the driver runs the course, the co-driver delivers the pace notes. For some of the drivers, these notes will literally tell him how fast to go through a given section.
There are only short glimpses, but the pit crew not only changes tires and brakes, but may also swap transmissions and do body work during the short pit breaks. There are also road crews (not shown in the video) that are at various points of the stages giving timing information about other teams and weather or road conditions on the course.
I'd like to think of the broker as the co-driver. He's been there, done that, and can deliver cool and reassuring advice to the driver to keep him on pace. The pit crew and road crew deliver the training the driver needs to get through the course.
Like I said... streeeetch...
But a great video. The other one I agonized over had better music... maybe I'll toss it out later. You really need to watch the video all of the way through. The control these guys demonstrate is amazing.
