Was a photographer. That was before real estate. It was a great time. I shot for a few magazine, and wrote stories as well. Mostly I wrote travel stories, but I also did a few tech articles. That was sort of the bonus work.
At the same time, I was working here in Atlanta in commercial photography as a photographer and assistant photographer. The coolest stuff I got to do was as an assistant. One of my clients was a pretty well known (in the business) location shooter. I was more of a studio mole, but he hired me anyway. We worked together for nine years. He primarily did corporate annual reports, and other location work that involved cool stuff.
Meanwhile, on the weekends, I was shooting my travel stuff and 4x4 stuff. I was also shooting some advertising work of my own. I was lucky enough to shoot for Lotus Cars, NA, among others.
But, working with Chipp was still cooler. We photographed the containment pool of a nuclear reactor while it was down for a refuel, Evander Holyfield, Barbara Bush, and hot chicks on a Harley (we actually were shooting the Harley for a client, and the hot chicks just showed up). I also worked with other photographers to shoot interiors for the promo materials of the Gulfstream V, and a real estate brochure for a top notch resort in Miami Beach (ok, the shoot was pretty boring, but each of us had our own multi-room suite for 3 days, with full comp on food. We only shot a few hours in the morning and evening, and relaxed the rest of the time... and got paid).
I moved from that into photo retail management, and then decided that I wanted to spend more time with my (not quite yet born) kid than in a store herding employees and customers and making money for others.
So... that is about it. Sooner or later I will get a scanner and put a bunch of my film through it. Then I can add some more of my pictures to my blog posts.
