That is right... I took a vacation from blogging. I haven't missed more than a handful of days in two years on my blog at LaneBailey.com. I have pre-written posts, and even post-dated a couple by a few hours.
But the last post I put up on that blog was Sunday. I have posted two posts to A|R in the same period. I took a break... I even skipped my regular posts to LaneBailey.info and Lilburn Dwellings.
So, what would be so important as to make me skip blogging for 5 days?
(Mike Mueller is going to love this...)
HOCKEY CAMP
OK, actually, my kid's hockey camp. I have been kind of immersed. He has spent 5 days playing hockey and having a blast at the Come And Get It Hockey Camp. Three hours of ice time each day, two hours of off-ice training, two meals and some movie time. This is his second time with this camp... he went in June, too. And I have been building a website for the school, CAGIhockey.com. (It is Joomla, if anyone is interested)
Shooting pictures and video, talking with the kids, helping get the little guys in their gear, hanging out with some moms and dads, talking to the pro players that volunteered for the camp... I have been a busy guy... I have spent more time at the Duluth Ice Forum than I thought I would... and I thought I would spend a lot of time there this time.
It has been a blast. I'm really excited about getting the site fully deployed. We have some great ideas. It is a really cool camp, and I feel that it is a worthwhile investment of my time to help out with the site. Dan Sullivan, a player for the Gwinnett Gladiators and the guy that started the camp, is obviously well respected among his peers. NHL players, ECHL players and former players gathered to play with the kids and teach them more about the game.
I'll be back into my regular swing tomorrow (Saturday). I'll be rested and ready to hit the road at speed. I already have a few posts that I know need out of my head. Thank you for your patience...

I am pleased to announce that Jackson Bryce Bailey slid into the outside world today at 6:00pm. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and 21" tall. He is a happy baby boy, and is excited to start ice skating with Big Brother Garrett. Since Garrett wants to be a goalie, Jackson has decided to be a Power Forward.
